House Values

A strategic plan ideally points to the directions of our thinking. It also, ideally, tells people how we will get there. But a strategic plan has to be very clear about beliefs and these are shown below.

OUR PURPOSE
(why we exist)

Improving the learning, socialization services and opportunities provided for all of our people, regardless of their age, ability and ethnicity, through the delivery of an integrated, cost effective range of activities and programmes that are sponsored by the Community House.

OUR VALUES
(what we believe in)

We value inclusiveness; we are open to innovative approaches; and, we are responsive to community needs. We also value fun and the creation of celebrations. We are anti-racist.

OUR MISSION
(what we do)

Massey Community House is a safe house that is committed to providing lifelong learning and community development for the citizens of Massey Aotearoa New Zealand.

OUR STRATEGIC DIRECTION
(how we will get there)

By developing a programme of planned goal directed activities. We seek integration, through our committee, staff and volunteers to generate honest two-way partnerships with others.

Aside from the Mission, Vision, Values and Strategic Direction, we have a number of really important beliefs which we do our very best to follow. They are:

Massey Community House honours the Treaty of Waitangi;

Massey Community House is an effective and high performing Community House;

Massey Community House will be well governed and resourced to best meet its purpose and vision; and,

Massey Community House will effectively network locally, city wide, regionally and nationally.
