Kaipara College is co-educational, state secondary school situated at Helensville (about 30 minutes west of Massey) at the Southern end of the Kaipara Harbour.The college was established in 1928 and sits on the fringe of the greater Auckland area.The area has large fishing and horticultural industries but is also a popular area for residents who either work in Waitakere City or Auckland to reside.Students come from the small rural, satellite and beach communities as well as from the orchards, farms and land-holdings in the surrounding area.Owera, in Rodney, is considered the main business and shopping centre for the area, however many prefer the safer, easy route to Westgate in Massey.
